If you’ve been hanging around my page for a while, you know this is our sacred space for raw inspiration, authentic growth, and just pouring positive energy into each other. But today? Today is a massive milestone, and I am so incredibly thrilled to welcome you to the very first official episode of Cafecito Conversations!
I am partnering up with my wonderful co-host—and total savvy kitchen explorer—Kairym Yvonne. We actually recorded this first cup together at a local library studio, and let me tell you, the energy was so beautiful. A Divine Hint: How Our Paths Crossed
Let me tell you a quick story that proves God doesn't do accidents. Kairym and I actually met three years ago way up in Pensacola. A mutual Latina friend brought a small group of us together for monthly dinner dates. We clicked instantly.
We bonded so deeply over our roots and traditions. One Christmas, Kairym’s family didn't have holiday plans, so we threw open our doors and invited them over for a classic Cuban tradition—my husband was roasting a whole pig! Then for New Year’s, we partied at her house, where she did her Puerto Rican tradition and roasted a whole pig of her own! It was a full house of Latinos and, of course, the best party on the block.
But then life pivoted. My family relocated to Tampa for my husband's work. A year later, her life unexpectedly flipped too, and her family moved down to South Florida. When I reached out to her, chica, go figure... she had moved literally 10 minutes away from my new house!
We sat down for a cup of coffee that stretched into hours, because we are Latinas, there is no such thing as a 15-minute coffee meetup! Sitting there, we realized we had to take the hint from God and bring this magic to you.
Let's Talk About "The Limbo"
Even though our individual paths look a bit different, Kairym and I realized we were standing mentally and professionally in the exact same place: limbo.
Limbo is that uncomfortable, messy feeling of being at a crossroads where the old map doesn't work anymore, but the new one hasn't been drawn yet. From my Beehive perspective, I see this happen to so many of us. We spend decades completely hyper-focused on the "Superwoman grind"—the kids, the careers, the spouses, building everyone else's home, and running ourselves ragged. In the process, we completely forget how to inhabit our own souls.
If you are looking in the mirror right now feeling a bit lost, burnt out, or wondering if you're having a midlife crisis, listen to me: it’s not a crisis. We are in limbo because our spirits are finally whispering, "It’s our turn now." It isn't selfish to want to grow; it is pure intelligence. We have a whole world of talent left to offer.
Your Savvy Strategy: 10 Minutes Just For You
Before we finish our first cup, Kairym dropped a brilliant, actionable win that I need you to put into practice today: Choose one small thing that is just for you. Not for the house, not for the kids—just for you.
Whether that means blasting your favorite song in the car and screaming the lyrics, sitting on the patio in total silence, or going to bed 10 minutes earlier, find what brings you peace. Put it on your calendar, treat it as an unbreakable appointment, and make yourself attend!
My Beehive Reflection: Speak Your Truth Out Loud
To wrap up our heart-to-heart, I want to leave you with a powerful reflection from one of my absolute favorite scriptures, Mark 11:23–24. God tells us that whoever tells a mountain to be lifted and thrown into the sea, and does not doubt in their heart but believes it will happen, it shall be done.
