The Art of the Pivot ☕✨
Hey my beautiful Beehive! Grab your favorite mug, pour yourself something warm, and come sit with me for a minute. We need to talk.
Have you ever woken up to a morning where everything felt like it was going according to plan, only for life to completely throw a wrench in it? Maybe it’s a sudden decision at work, a major transition at home, or just that heavy, overwhelming feeling that you’re stuck at a massive crossroads and don't know which way to turn.
If you are standing in that space right now, I want you to take a deep breath. Look at me: you are not crazy, you are not failing, and you are definitely not alone.
In this week's episode of Cafecito Conversations, Kairym and I sat down over our warm cups to unpack what it actually takes to master The Art of the Pivot. Because let’s be honest, changing direction when you're already exhausted is hard. But learning how to pivot with grace, faith, and emotional courage? That is where your power lives.
When Life Yells "PIVOT!" (And Your Couch is Stuck on the Stairs)
I have to tell you a secret before you press play. Before we even recorded a single second of this episode, life decided to test us! We are not the savviest tech ladies in the world, and we spent a full hour sitting at our recording setup struggling with software glitches, broken connections, and technical issues that made us want to throw up our hands.
If you’ve ever watched that classic episode of Friends where Ross, Chandler, and Rachel are trying to haul that giant couch up a tiny staircase and Ross just stands there screaming, "PIVOT! PIVOT! PIVOT!"—that was literally us!
We had two choices in that moment. We could have let the frustration ruin our day, cancelled the session, and walked away upset. Or we could practice what we preach, laugh through the mess, and pivot right then and there.
That little tech disaster reminded me of something so important that I wanted to bring straight to you: A pivot isn't a failure of your original plan; it's just your spirit making room for a better way forward.
Two Perspectives at One Table
What I love most about sitting down with Kairym for these cups of coffee is how different our journeys are, yet how closely our hearts align.
In this episode, Kairym opens up about her own life as a true gypsy at heart—from her 17 years as a ballet dancer (where a physical pivot was built into every single routine!) to living in over nine different places and navigating constant moves. She breaks down the exact 3-Step Kitchen Table Strategy her family uses over a plate of homemade spaghetti bolognese to guide her kids through major transitions without losing their connection.
Listening to her story made me reflect so deeply on how we all process change. As women and mothers, we carry this invisible pressure to be the unbreakable anchor for everyone around us. We try to keep our husbands grounded, guide our children through shifts they didn't ask for, and somehow keep our own heads above water.
Whether you are the one packing up boxes or the one trying to hold steady through a quiet, internal shift in your own life, this episode is a gentle reminder that you don't have to carry the weight of the pivot all by yourself.
A Word for Your Soul Today
As we wrapped up our conversation at the table, I wanted to share a spiritual truth with you that has been grounding my heart through every shift and season: Mark 11:23–24.
Jesus tells us that if you say to this mountain, "Be removed and cast into the sea," and do not doubt in your heart but believe that those things you say will be done, you will have whatever you say.
My sweet Beehive, if you are pivoting right now, I want you to remember these two steps:
Say what you are believing for out loud. Speak peace over your home, speak direction over your steps, and name what you are trusting God for.
Let it go. Stop trying to micromanage every single detail, stop overthinking the next ten steps, and just step into pure faith.
When you trust God fully, you stop chasing and you start receiving. Choose your words wisely, because your mindset manifests your reality. Be patient with the process, and remember: little by little, bees build their hive.Ready to Sip and Listen with Us?
